2 week check-up

This is me in one of the many outfits I got from my soon to be friends Cate and Eve Camenga. They are 6 months older than me, but my Mommy and Daddy say we'll all be good friends since Daddy and Mommy are good friends with their mommy and daddy. I guess there's also a boy named Jonah, but Daddy says I am only suppose to love him and I think that Daddy guy is pretty smart, so I guess I have to listen, for now. ;)

Addison had her 2 week check-up today. She now weighs 7lbs. 9oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. I think that is funny because that is exactly how big Xavier was when he was born. It just took her 2 weeks to catch up. She is doing great and they are very impressed with her weight gain. I said all she wants to do is nurse and sleep, and of course poop her diapers. The doctor was also impressed at how well she rolls over. She kept rolling away from him and he kept telling her you aren't suppose to be doing that yet, so she would roll some more. He said if she keeps this up, she might be rolling over by 2 months maybe even 1 month. We'll have to see.

We were trying to get Xavier to sing some karaoke. However, he just wanted to lip-synch instead. Then when he caught me video taping him, he would stop. Oh well I tried. He does look pretty cute when doesn't notice me. Oh and he has John pretending to play the guitar with a shoe. One of Xavier's favorite things to do is pretend he is a rock star. I've been trying to catch him doing it on video, but he is very clever.

Some more of Addison

This is a picture of a bus that my big brother drew for me. He wanted me to hold on to it.

This is my new blanket Mommy's friend Hannah made me. I like being snuggled up in it.

Mommy thinks I look a lot like my Daddy.

This is the outfit my big brother bought me. It has penguins on it. Don't I look cute?!

One Week Old

Waking up this morning. Happy Birthday Addison, you are now 1 week old!

Just looking super sweet while chilling out on xavier's bean bag chair.

Getting measured. I am now 19 inches and a half. I grew a 1/4 of an inch.

Getting weighed at the doctor's office. I weigh 7lbs. 2 oz. I was 6lbs 13 oz when we left the hospital, so I have put back on some weight.

Snow in Georgia

Last night on our way home from Xavier's school, it started snowing. I couldn't believe my eyes. Snow in Georgia!!!! We got about a half an inch in Dallas where we live. I wanted to take a picture of Xavier in the snow last night, but he wouldn't let me. So, I took some this morning of the back porch and the neighborhood. Unfortunately it rained all night and most of the snow melted away. However, they are calling for more snow tomorrow night and into Saturday morning.

The story of Addison's arrival:
We left for the hospital on Jan. 8th at 7:00p.m.. I was to be there by 8p.m.. Got checked in and then the nurses started the procedure to induce me. I was put on pitocin at 7:30a.m. Jan. 9th and the contractions started coming on pretty hard by noon. They checked my progress right around then and I was only dilated 1.5cm. They upped the pitocin and rechecked at 5p.m.. I still had not dilated anymore. So they took me off the pitocin and let me shower and eat some food. Then at 8p.m. they restarted the procedure to get the cervix ready and at 6:30a.m. on the Jan. 10th they started the pitocin, again. This time the contractions were almost non-existent. At noon I still had not dilated anymore than the 1.5cm. This began the talk of a c-section and what that meant. By 4:30p.m. the decision was made that I would need a c-section. I was quickly whisked away to the OR and John joined me in a few minutes. By 4:49p.m. our little Addie Lou was here. She weighed 7lbs 5.4 oz and was 19 1/4 in long. Not the big huge baby everybody thought she would be. We also found out that her cord was wrapped pretty tight around her neck and the doctor told me that there was no way I would have been able to deliver her the natural way. Which made me very relived to know b/c I was frustrated at the failed inductions. But God was looking out for our baby girl and I am so grateful for that.
As for me, I am getting a little better each day. I was able to come home on Saturday night and then my Mom flew in from Colorado the same night. She is staying for 10 days to help us out. I am so happy she's here. It has been really good. Plus Xavier doesn't mind all the extra attention from his Grandma.
The computer is downstairs and I am not allowed to do stairs for 2 weeks, so I came through the garage today so that I could post this page. When I am allowed to do more, I will post some more pictures of our little girl.

Baby Update

I had an ultrasound on Thursday and they are estimating that she is around 8lbs. 1 oz.. Apparently this is too big for their liking and are recommending that my doctor induces me before 39 weeks, which would be this coming Saturday the 12th. I saw my doctor on Friday and she is having me come back Monday afternoon to check on my progress and tell me when they have scheduled the induction. She is looking at either Tuesday the 8th or Wednesday the 9th. As of right now, the baby is not making any progress to come out. She has dropped and is in the right spot, but she seems to be content on hanging out for some time. I am not dilated and the contractions I do have are about 5 a day and range from 20 minutes to 3 hours apart.
I am very happy about this b/c it means I know when I am to be at the hospital, John can give his work some warning, and we can get Xavier to our friends house in a timely fashion. Plus it means I only have a few more days to endure this discomfort I've been having and then I get to hold my baby girl.
I will repost new information when I get home on Monday. Please keep us in your prayers. We have been doing well so far and it would be nice to keep it that way.
